PMC-BiSerial-Nvy1 is part of the PMC Module family of modular I/O components by Dynamic Engineering. The NVY1 is updated for the PMC-BiSerial II. The PMC-BiSerial II is designed for transferring data from point to point with a serial protocol. The PMC BiSerial II is capable of providing multiple serial protocols. The Nvy1 protocol implemented provides Manchester encoded data inputs and outputs plus a UART function.

The PMC-BiSerial features a Xilinx FPGA that contains all of the registers and protocol controlling elements of the BiSerial design. Only the transceivers, switches and FIFO's are external to the Xilinx device.
